Laminate Flooring

Specialising in expert timber floor installations, Grounded Flooring provides premium workmanship from dedicated professionals. With decades of experience in the industry, the tradespeople at Grounded Flooring are known for honest advice, outstanding customer service, and high-quality installation of laminate flooring in Sydney.

What is laminate flooring?

Laminate is a composite consisting of a coloured print layer glued to durable particleboard, finished with a protective topcoat. An affordable, low-maintenance material, laminate flooring is easy to keep clean and doesn’t require sanding or polishing

The top-layer of laminate floorboards are resistant to scratches and abrasions, making them an ideal choice for high-traffic areas of the home.

One of the main advantages of laminate flooring is the extensive selection of stylish designs and colours that can be printed onto the composite. These printed designs can replicate the grain patterns of real wood, allowing you to perfectly complement your decor and interior style with your flooring.

Benefits of laminate flooring

Whether you’re remodelling, renovating, or building a new home, it’s important to choose the right type of flooring for the space.

  • More affordable than engineered or solid hardwood flooring.
  • Almost indistinguishable from real timber thanks to advanced print and embossing techniques.
  • Available in a variety of finishes including matte and smooth.
  • Durable and resistant to scratches
  • Generally UV treated to protect against fading of the printed design.
  • Most high-end laminates are water-resistant.

At Grounded Flooring, we only work with trusted brands who align with our values. Reliable and known for quality products, each supplier has been tried and tested so our customers receive timber of the highest quality. Along with the choice of laminate flooring in Sydney, Grounded Flooring also provides engineered timber, hybrid flooring, vinyl planks, and solid timber.

Preparing the subfloor

When it comes to flooring, the secret is through the preparation of the subfloor. This allows the timber to be laid efficiently and effectively. The experienced professionals at Grounded Flooring level the subfloor with precision and refined preinstallation techniques. Our contractors can also remove your old flooring before installing new timber floorboards.

Installation

Once the subfloor has been prepared and levelled, the timber can be laid. The Grounded Flooring team is proficient in a variety of installation methods including floating, direct stick, and nailing.

  • Floating: floating floorboards use a tongue-groove system or click and lock together over an underlay which rests on the subfloor.
  • Direct Stick: each individual floorboard is glued directly to the substrate, usually on concrete or timber subfloors. Direct stick installation may be combined with nailing for added stability.
  • Nailing: floorboards are nailed to the timber subfloor or battens. For optimum stability, floorboards are glued down before nailing.
